Hospital as a TRICARE Network Provider
“The Induction of Riverside General Hospital
into the TRICARE program is a huge step toward a comprehensive and universal health care reform for the 18th Congressional District of Texas.”
 (Houston, TX) - Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and Mr. Earnest Gibson, President of Riverside General Hospital will announce on Monday, the U.S. Department of Defenses’ inclusion of Riverside General Hospital as a TRICARE network provider.  TRICARE is the health care plan for the uniformed services, retirees and their families. It serves more than 9.4 million eligible beneficiaries worldwide in the Department of Defense Military Health System.
 Riverside General Hospital (RGH) was founded due to the heroic efforts of veterans in the First World War. Riverside General Hospital , formerly The Houston Negro Hospital was erected in 1926 in memory of Lieutenant John Halm Cullinan, 344^th FA, and 90th Div. AEP.  Today, Riverside General
Hospital is the only private African-American-owned hospital in the state of Texas that is contracted to provide inpatient psychiatric and inpatient detoxification services to TRICARE Beneficiaries. Riverside General Hospital was approved by the TRICARE Value Options Credentialing Committee TBD.
